The Girl Scouts of Hawaii, originally sponsored by Hawaii's Queen Liliuokalani in 1917 , has enabled thousands of girls to discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. Today, Girl Scouting in Hawaii serves about 6,000 members on all major islands through a system of over 500 troops and three resident campsites . "Gaining Skills, Growing Strong", the Girl Scout Council of Hawaii initiative, empowers girls to develop confidence and reach their full potential as leaders and contributors in their communities.
